Read Labels

My Before Pictures
I want to emphasize how important it is to read products labels if you want to be successful in your weight loss program.
I started this program in April 2010 and I recorded a weight loss of 8lbs in the first month after that the weight loss was very slow as
a matter a fact I saw no movement. Normally seeing no results for my efforts, I would get upset and depressed but this time around I have notice
a change in my attitude. I have to keep reminding myself to be positive because this new eating habit will also result in good health.
At first I ignored it and keep up with the program saying to myself that maybe I was just going through an adjustment phase. Apparently I was
at a plateau, or so I thought.
One day I remember posting a comment on 6 Week Body Makeover FaceBook account stating that I had just eaten some roasted chicken breast and it tasted so
good.
I normally purchase my chicken breast and fish fillet at a wholesale store but for the slow hotel industry season, the vendor did not have any goods in
stock so I had to purchase my stock at a local retail grocer. So I picked up two packs of Tyson chicken. I roasted them and they were really good.
As I realize that I was not loosing any weight, I decided that I may have to make a visit to my doctor and see what advise he would give me. Then I got
an inspiration to read the label of the Pack of Tyson Chicken breasts, the first thing that I saw was that the chicken breasts were cooked in chicken broth.
I am sure the chick broth contained salt.
In addition I purchase cooked shrimp and some fish fillet that I really like and the price is very reasonable the ingredients had salt on the list.
I am only now realizing this fact. I did not read the labels when I first purchased these items. I have come to the conclusion that the salted products
are the reason that my metabolism had halted again.
I also decided to change how I eat my meals. On mornings I would have oats with a banana and some protein. For my second and fourth meal I would have
some protein and fruit. My fifth and third meal with would normally contain carbohydrate, protein and fruit. I would normally have my fifth and last
meal at 7pm. I decided that it may not be a good idea to have a heavy meal at that hour.
So I would have my carbohydrate, protein and vegetable for my third and fourth meal and protein and fruit for my second and fifth last meal.
I think this would work because I met a nutritionist and she recommended that protein should be part of my last and first meal.
I am making a conscious to drink a lot of water and make exercise a part of my daily routine.
I never really expected that the fish fillet and shrimp would have contained salt, that goes to show me that I should READ THE LABELS!!
