Your Weight Loss Success Stories
No Easy Way To Diet
I am no doctor but I can tell you from my
experience and others there is no fast way to loose weight (healthy)
and it is hard work.
Most of us are so desperate to lose weight that we
think that the best thing to do is to starve ourselves. This can have
some serious effects on your health, for example, not eating can,
believe it or not, cause you to gain more weight, and you can seriously
suffer from stomach pains due to gas. This has happened to me. When I
was much younger, I started an unhealthy diet where I had a light
breakfast and one small sandwich, or a pack of Doritos for lunch while
I was at school and did not eat anything else for the rest of the day
until I got home.
At the time I thought that was satisfactory and
that I would lose weight, which I did, but suffered from severe stomach
pains. Starving yourself to loose weight actually works, but you loose
the weight rapidly. When the weight is lost then you tend to relax and
over eat to compensate for when you did not eat and as a result, gain
the weight twofold.
My diet unfortunately did not include an exercise
routine. I hated exercising and thought that it was too much work. As a
result of this I have lost some muscle, certain parts of my body are
not toned and my breasts have become too droopy for my comfort. My best
friend also encountered this same problem, she is a single mother and
holds two jobs and does not have time to go to for the gym. So like I
did, she was dieting without exercising. Consequently, she has a lot of
loose skin in her stomach area where she has lost some weight.
My unhealthy diet also consisted of no meat, I did
not take protein or vitamins in place of meat. Being young and
uneducated I thought that stew chicken, pork, beef, fish was one of the
reasons for being over weight. Do not get me wrong, I did lose the
weight, but in an unhealthy way. I did not realize that meat is our
main source of protein, and our bodies need protein. We need protein to
help build muscle tissue which is used to operate the most important
organs in our body. Maybe if I incorporated meat in my diet in a more
healthy way, for example, baked chicken breasts, or grilled fish, I
would have been better off.
Weight loss is hard work, and I have learnt that
there is no easy way or short cut to do so. If you decide to diet,
educate yourself before you do. Do it the right way, make healthy
eating and exercise a lifestyle.
